Hi, friend.

Welcome to Embers in the Pines—a quiet space to gather warmth, notice the light filtering through the branches, breathe in the hush of something full of wonder, hold both the ache and the beauty, and find the presence of God in the stillness.

I am drawn to what lingers. The glow beneath the ashes, the quiet strength of something steady. The kind of truth that doesn’t rush in but waits to be noticed. Sometimes, His light is obvious—a blazing fire. Other times, it’s subtle—a flicker beneath the surface, always there, waiting to be noticed.

This space is a place to pause, to tend to what is glowing, to remember what is true. It’s a gathering of reflections, a slow unfolding of words that hold light and presence, an invitation to dwell with God in the everyday wilderness—and to carry His goodness forward.

About Me

I’m Jennifer—a writer, storyteller, wife, and mother to two. I have always sought the quiet, the way light moves through trees, the beauty in the unnoticed. Embers in the Pines is where I come to the page to practice the art of noticing, writing, holding the meaning from small moments. It is a place of tending to what aches beneath the surface.

I’ve walked through seasons of waiting, infertility, loss, grief, unknowns, the quiet refining of surrender, and the unique joys and challenges of being a mother of a child with disabilities. In every season—every wilderness, every quiet clearing—I have found Jesus steady beside me. He has met me in the shadows, the hard places, and taught me to trust Him in the unknown, and invited me to see His goodness in even the smallest flickers of light.

This is where I name what often goes unnamed. Where I write not to be known but to return to what matters. To gather the light—and give it away.

What You’ll Find Here

This space is for those who long to walk slower, notice more, and gather light even in the shadows. Here, I write about:

Faith & presence—the quiet strength of knowing God is near, even when the way feels hidden.

Motherhood & life’s unfolding seasons—the joy, the ache, and the beauty threaded through the unknown.

Grief & longing—the ache that lingers, the light that flickers, the quiet hope that still rises, the embers that remain.

Writing & creativity—the steady practice of showing up, word by word.

The beauty in the ordinary—the hush before morning, the scent of the pine forest, the whisper of grace in the middle of everything.

No matter what season you’re walking through, I hope this space reminds you: There is still goodness. There is beauty in the ashes. There is light waiting to be kindled.

So come, friend. Breathe deep. Notice the flicker. Gather the light. Hold the moment. Create with wonder. Tend the fire.

Let’s walk this path together—slowly, steadily—with hearts open to wonder and words that carry the weight of what matters.

With warmth,

Jennifer
