Welcome, friends! The time has arrived, and I'm beyond thrilled to share this new adventure with you. For too long, the desire to embark on my own Substack journey has lingered in the spaces of my heart. I remember signing up on Substack when the big wave of people began to make the move, and I let it be– I let it just hold empty space marked with a “coming soon post”. I hesitated switching everything over from my blog to this space–honestly, I resisted it, all the questions quickly swirled and began to pile up in my head. Was this another thing to add to my plate? How do I simplify my blog and this space? Should I make the full switch over?
For a while now Instagram has been the place where I have shared so many of the words that God has placed on my heart, and then occasionally let those spill over onto my blog because the confinement of character count on Instagram was not cutting it. I am ready for something new, and this was the next step to take. With the new year upon us, I am going full tilt, diving headfirst into this uncharted territory.
My word this year that God laid on my heart is grounded– there is so much to unpack with that, so I will save that one for another post, but what I will share here now is that this is a place for me to really be grounded, really pressing into the writer that I am. This Substack is my canvas to paint with words, thoughts, and experiences of the everyday moments of my life in hopes that they will meet you where you are, creating a space where stories come alive, connections flourish– for you to take what you need. A shared adventure awaits.
My heart's desire is to always point you to Jesus, especially in the midst of the terrain that you find yourself in. As we embark on this trek together, know that my motivation stems from a personal journey of pressing into Him harder, seeking Him diligently, knowing Him deeper, following Him closer, and loving Him stronger.
I am in a constant burning pursuit of Jesus, passionate about bringing Jesus to the highest of heights—making Him known. I am here to tell His story, and hold fast to the one true source.
If the journey you’re facing looks different than you imagined it would, you’re in the right place.
My story is far different than I planned it to be. After walking through years of waiting for answers and infertility, my husband & I had our son at 23 weeks. Our lives changed in an instant and our trek pivoted time and time again as we walked through, and continue to walk through challenging moments, from life-altering diagnoses and learning the ins and outs of the disabilities he lives with. In the midst of this, and so many other battles along the way, God was there, shaping us and revealing Himself to us.
When we lost two babies,
When our marriage was propelled into relying on solely on God,
As I disciple my children in the everyday moments & homeschool,
Through the various hills, valleys, and mountains of special needs,
In all of it, I can say with certainty, surely God is in this place.
We aren’t left to make the trek alone. God has given us access to Himself. As we set our eyes on Him and His purpose, holding fast to an eternal perspective, things begin to shift. I don’t have it all together, but my desire is to share what I’ve learned along the way.
